The data maps below, created by The London Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (LAEI), show the annual mean concentrations of Nitrogen Oxides and Nitrogen Dioxide levels for 2016 (the most recent data) for Central and Greater London extending out to the M25. Roads mapped in green or blue are within legal limits. Roads in yellow orange or red have exceeded legal limits. Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) is a member of the Nitrogen Oxide family of compounds.
Some colours within the sections of maps used in the project have been slightly de-saturated to highlight the most polluted areas, and work as a reminder of the pollution that not only flows through the arteries of the city, but also the arteries of the children living there.
